The authors interviewed 15 men who used both alcohol and amphetamines. Clinical histories indicated the existence of two types of abuse patterns—one primarily concerned with the effects of amphetamines and the other with the effects of alcohol. The authors discuss the similarities and differences between these two groups in terms of psychological test results and drug abuse histories. They suggest that the management of this combination syndrome will be different from that for separate alcohol and drug abuse syndromes.Abstract Teaser
