Abstract

The authors point out that there is a great need for adequate prevalence data in the planning of comprehensive community alcoholism programs and that such planning must be based on the needs of the specific community. They present a method for obtaining useful prevalence data in a brief period of time and at a modest cost, giving examples of how these data can be used in planning a rational program for a specific community.
