Abstract
The authors attempted to identify predictors of professional achievement from data that are routinely collected from applicants for psychiatric residency training. The strongest predictors were the subject's rank in his medical school class and his age at the beginning of his training. The authors point out, however, that achievement indices frequently correlate highly with each other and that many factors must be considered in selecting psychiatric residents.Abstract Teaser
