Abstract
The author presents an approach to psychiatric consultation before abortion that attempts to determine the extent of the woman's ambivalence about the abortion by clarifying any unconscious motivations or conflicts. Other goals are an evaluation of the woman's capacity to cope and an assessment of the quality of life that would be available to the infant.Abstract Teaser
