Abstract
The authors describe a community-oriented treatment modality called "Hale Nui," in use in a military community in Hawaii. A graduated program stressing group therapy and activity—social as well as therapeutic—encourages the individual to practice using his strengths and assets. Graduation from the program occurs as members gain mutual trust and self-confidence and use community resources appropriately.Abstract Teaser
