Abstract

Antipsychotic drugs are the most useful treatment available for the most serious psychiatric disorders. Despite the plethora of available drugs, a rational choice of few will provide a full range of therapeutic effects. One must always choose drugs in relation to the special needs of individual patients. A properly chosen drug may be preferable to polypharmacy; as in architecture, "less may be more."
