The dream reports of an adult population obtained by a survey questionnaire revealed the preoccupations of the population and are different in some aspects from the early memories of the same population. Dream reports contain equal frequencies of aggressive and friendly social interactions, tend to be more negative as to mood and event outcome, have more anxiety than hostility, and refer mainly to the family. Early memories have more familiar settings, oral incorporation, castration anxiety, and overt hostility.Abstract Teaser
