Abstract
The author reviews the literature on the possible toxicity of nicotinic acid, whose therapeutic value in the treatment of schizophrenia is still in dispute. While the drug appears to be relatively harmless, caution in prescribing it is advised, especially for women of childbearing age and for patients with a history of ulcer, gout, diabetes, or liver disease.Abstract Teaser
