Abstract
In reviewing some contemporary issues in psychiatric theory, the author concludes that the mind-body split remains as an unsolved problem and a focus of discomfort for theoreticians. He feels that while many concepts of classic and neo-Freudian psychoanalysis must be recognized as valuable and durable contributions, others are in need of revision. Among the areas he believes to be most in need of consideration is cognition.Abstract Teaser
