Abstract
Combinations of 2 or 4 mg. perphenazine and 10 or 25 mg. amitriptyline were used as adjuncts to psychotherapy in 65 outpatients. The effect of the chemotherapy was considered excellent in 2 patients, good in 32, fair in 14, and none in 17. This agent appears to be most useful in agitated depression and least useful in schizophrenia. The major side effect was dryness of the mouth.Abstract Teaser
