A case of mania associated with Cushing's syndrome is reported, the first such case reported. The infrequent incidence of mania with Cushing's syndrome may be related to the slowness of change usually seen with this illness which allows for development of compensating defensive processes, both psychologic and physiologic. Pregnancy, an additional physiologic and psychologic stress, may have disrupted the patient's already precariously balanced adjustment.Abstract Teaser
