The dosage of ataraxics which these patients were receiving was considered to be their maintenance dosage and the smallest amount of treatment necessary, which may be the reason for the negative reports of liver damage. The effect of the medication on the individual patient, not the medicine or chemicals themselves, must be the primary consideration in all treatments(4).
