1. Fifty psychiatric patients treated with promazine hydrochloride, a new phenothiazine derivative, are reviewed.2. The drug was effective in one-third of the patients treated, but only in those who demonstrated marked anxiety.3. Dosages and methods of administration are considered.4. Adverse side-effects are mild and relatively uncommon as compared with those produced by chlorpromazine.5.
