Abstract

1. A case of acute catatonic excitement terminated by fatal lower nephron nephrosis is described.2. The importance of anticipating and precluding such a progression of pathophysiology is emphasized.3. Available studies on the fluid, metabolic, and electrolyte balance of such hyperactive psychotic patients are minimal and await further elucidation.
