Abstract

Two hundred cases of transorbital lobotomy are reported with marked improvement in over one-half of cases of chronically disturbed patients. The results according to diagnosis are indicated.We urge that this type of operation be considered for all chronically disturbed patients in whom other less strenuous forms of therapy have failed after one year.The economic advantages in the improvement of such a group of patients are stressed.
