1. A method for electromyographic study of the interview situation has been described.2. In the present exploratory study, the close synchronization of physiological recording with sound-tape recording of interview content, which this method provides, has been of value in a number of ways: (a) in providing objective evidence, in Case 1, of the activation of a tensional headache mechanism by psychological stress; (b) in demonstrating the specificity of this mechanism, and its alteration following treatment; and (c) in providing objective evidence of physiological differentiation corresponding to differences in psychotherapeutic productivity in Case 2.3. This method appears to be a promising one for use in further investigations of this kind.Abstract Teaser
