As a military psychiatrist with the Army's Mental Hygiene Consultation Service, this author gained the impression that many officers who could benefit do not take advantage of the neuropsychiatric services available to them. The reason for this may lie in the resistances, both personal and external, that the emotionally troubled officer must face in seeking help.
