Innovations in Military Corrections
Abstract
The 3320 USAF Retraining Group, an open correctional and rehabilitative facility for Air Force prisoners initiated 14 years ago, represents a marked innovation in military corrections. Short-term intensive treatment in this facility has produced a rate of return to duty averaging 51 percent, and short-term success rates for those returned to duty average 82 percent. The results of the Retraining Group program compare favorably with those of other civilian and military facilities.
