OBITUARY

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1176/ajp.11.3.296

In an obituary notice of Mr. MUNSON, in our July number, it was stated that he was the first President of the Board of Managers. This was an error. Mr. THOMAS H. HUBBARD, of Utica, was the first President. He was appointed at the first meeting of the Board on the 19th of April, 1842, and held the place until the expiration of his term of office as Manager in 1848. Mr. HUBBARD took an active part in the organization of the Asylum, and was a very faithful and valuable member of the Board. He was closely connected with Dr. BRIGHAM in his early labors, and was most highly esteemed by him and by his associates in the management of the institution.
